In 1939, the Ohio Division of Forestry accepted operational control of the land which was then known as Tar Hollow Forest-Park. Backpack camping is located at the fire tower (at the center of the Logan Trail, in Tar Hollow State Forest) and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Campers must register at the General Store (seasonally) or Park Office; cost is $4 per adult or $1 per youth per night.
